Usnea, a lichen, has been used in herbal traditions throughout the world for centuries, primarily respiratory support*. Also called "Old man's beard" due to its wispy appearance, it is a pendant lichen hanging from coniferous trees and it propogates through pieces breaking off. Usnea is quite sensitive to air quality and is becoming increasingly rare, making sustainable and ecologically conscious harvesting methods even more crucial. Our Usnea lichen is sustainably wildcrafted in the Pacific Northwest where it is most prevalent.
