About Self Heal Extract
Common Self Heal, also called Heal-All, is a member of the Lamiaceae (mint) family with a distinct square stem and spikes of dense tiny purple flowers atop hairy bracts. To say it is common may be an understatement: it is Native not only throughout North America, but in parts of Africa, Europe and Asia as well. This pollinator-friendly wildflower grows in abundance in lawns and meadows. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Xia Ku Cao is used for liver fire rising*. We make an extract of fresh Certified Organic Prunella vulgaris that is locally sourced.
