Increase exercise and lose weight. Obesity and insulin resistance can worsen symptoms of Andropause. Regular exercise has been shown to enhance testosterone levels. Avoid isolating oneself and find new creative and social outlets. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption and eat a low glycemic index/load diet rich in fruits, vegetables, deep sea fish, lean organic meats, legumes, nuts and seeds, and whole grains. Fish oils (omega 3 fatty acids) and adequate nutrients, especially B complex vitamins, Vitamin D and E, mineral such as zinc, selenium, chromium and magnesium, are all essential (and often lacking) for healthy aging.
