The Pippali fruit, or Long Pepper, is used in Ayurvedic medicine as a rasayana (tonic herb). Long Pepper is a close relative of the ubiquitous spice, Black Pepper. Both herbs contain piperine, a constituent believed to enhance the bioavailability and absorption of other herbs, and are often added to formulas for a harmonizing effect. We source the dried Pippali from India, where it is grown Certified Organic and Fair Trade to create a spicy and pungent, high quality herbal extract.
